Industry Forums

Within the RISING project, Industry Forums have been foreseen which will identify, integrate and further develop River Information Services (RIS) in order to provide adequate support to Inland Waterway Transport (IWT) and logistics operations. 

In the Industry Forums, the RISNG partners are reaching out to commercial enterprises, which are not project partners but stakeholders in this field. They will provide their requirements and feedback regarding RIS and new RIS services for transport and logistics purposes and support the dissemination of the project results and outcomes in the co-modal tranport and logistics sector.

21 September 2010: Industry Forum in Duisburg, Germany

The first Industry Forum for the German waterways was organized by the Institute of Shipping Economics and Logistics (ISL) and hosted by the Bundesverband der Deutschen Binnenschiffahrt e.V. (BDB).

In the Industry Forums, the RISING consortium addresses commercial enterprises which are not project partners but stakeholders in the IWT field. They are asked to provide their requirements and valuable feedback regarding RIS and new RIS services for transport and logistics purposes and support the dissemination of the project outcomes in the co-modal transport and logistics sector.

17 November 2009: Industry Forum in Linz, Austria

The first dissemination event on regional level for the RISING project, a so-called Industry Forum for the Danube Region, took place on 17 November in the voestalpine complex in Linz.
An extended one day programme including presentations and a bus tour of the ports of Ennshafen, Linz AG and voestalpine gave the 37 participants a global overview on the project and what it can bring to their day-to-day business.
The event was organised by via donau and Industrie Logistik Linz (ILL), both partners in the RISING project.
