Elbe

The case will demonstrate a pre-planning tool for heavy and oversized cargo on the Czech and German Labe/Elbe and its side canal. The tool proceeds a feasibility check for a specific cargo with given dimensions and weight from location A to B on request. It provides a feasible transport solution stating a travel time from port to port and an appropriate ship type. The tool will be implemented on the ElbPro “Elbe Promotion Center” (http://www.elbpro.com). The availability and accessibility of information on the feasibility of such transports will be improved for cargo owners and forwarders as well as administrations.
